About the Webinar

What if resistance isn’t standing in the way of change—but pointing toward it?

Many coaches have experienced moments when a client appears stuck. They avoid certain topics, dismiss feedback, struggle to follow through on commitments, intellectualize difficult experiences, or repeatedly return to the same challenges without meaningful movement. It can be tempting to view these moments as obstacles to progress.

But what if resistance is actually valuable information?

From a psychodynamic coaching perspective, resistance is not simply a barrier to overcome. It is often the visible expression of something important happening beneath the surface. It may signal vulnerability, uncertainty, conflicting motivations, unacknowledged emotions, or automatic protective strategies that have helped a client navigate life and work. When coaches learn to recognize and work with resistance skillfully, moments of impasse can become opportunities for deeper insight, stronger coaching relationships, and lasting growth.

In this interactive webinar, leadership coach, educator, and psychodynamic practitioner Tanna Brodbar will introduce participants to a psychodynamic understanding of resistance and explore how coaches can work with it in ways that deepen awareness and facilitate meaningful change.

Throughout the session, guest panelists will share reflections on how these concepts transformed their own coaching practice and client work.
